2016 Honda Accord Hybrid India is clearly to take on its rival the Toyota Camry as it will offer more performance and efficiency
The ninth-gen Accord is here after all. Honda has finally bought in the new Accord, but it isn’t any ordinary variant or same mechanically. This time we get the hybrid variant. Honda hasn’t had success in the Indian market with the hybrid variants. Remember the sales drama of the old Civic Hybrid that came in 2008? However, this has absolutely nothing to do with this. Hybrid market is catching up and the consumers are more informed than before.

Honda did discontinued the eighth-generation Accord a few years ago owing almost no sales in the market thanks to superior competition. The ninth-gen model comes today, after three years into the Indian market.
Design is all new, especially from the C-Pillar. Rear is now modern and sharp looking and doesn’t have a lot curves. Honda actually cut down on the length to make it more attractive. However, the height is gone up to make it more practical and integrate the new design.
Front is all new and we must say this is one of the first few Honda to look futuristic and attractive as it clearly has a global approach this time. Features list includes start-stop button, leather seats, touch screen system, connectivity options, Apple Car Play and Android Auto. 2016 Honda Accord Hybrid India version will come with a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle i-VTEC petrol motor that makes a modest 145 BHP and 175 Nm of torque. The engine is set to be paired with two electric motors. This takes the combined rating to 184 BHP and 315 Nm of torque. Total output of the 2016 Honda Accord Hybrid India is rated at 215 BHP.
Power and Torque are sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox. The petrol engine and electric motor can power the car either together or independently. Electric mode gives you just 2-4 kms. 2016 Honda Accord Hybrid India has three drive modes to select once driving.
