Maruti, as we know is the king of the segment when it comes to small cars and it continues to be the number one in the category. However, grave competition from Renault-Nissan Alliance has taken Maruti by shock. An unprecedented and slightly before time launch of the Alto 800 facelift has commenced. Maruti has done this to keep the product fresh and alive in the market as the competition is set to get intense in the next two years as all manufacturers will have same products in their own lineup as well. 2Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Facelift Engine, Gearbox and Mileage
Engine wise, things stay the same as before. The 800cc engine has been tuned slightly to make things more fuel-efficient. The petrol powered engine now returns 24.7 km/l and 33.44 km/g in the CNG form. Overall, the numbers have increased by 9% and should keep the segment customers happy. The engine continues to be the 3-cylinder unit that makes 48 PS of power and 69 Nm of torque. CNG version makes 40 PS and 60 Nm of torque. The liquid-cooled, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine is known for excellent performance and driveability and combing great efficiency in city.
2016 Maruti Alto 800 Facelift Design and Dimensions
When it comes to the design, the small car has seen increase of length by 35mm and total length now stands at 3430mm. The headlights have been mildly tweaked and major change has been seen in the front and rear bumper. Side profile remains the same and so do the tail-lamps to an extent. The mild facelift hasn’t changed Alto’s appeal drastically, However, the new colors such as Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue have added a bit of flare to the package.

Good quality interior and well laid-out dashboard with enough features onboard make it ideally the common man’s car. You get the audio system with two speakers along with USB, Aux and in-built Radio. Fit-finish levels are good and the car feels well-built to take on abuse. Overall space too inside is good with good legroom, headroom and enough boot space to store family luggage.

Maruti Alto 800 Facelift Safety Features
All the variants of the facelifted Alto 800 get an optional driver-side airbag at an additional cost of Rs. 6000/- only. Immobiliser along with tubeless tyres are also part of the package. ABS is still missing on the car.
