Last product launch for Mercedes-Benz this year was the very popular CLA sedan that is now refreshed inside out to appeal more
The largest luxury car maker in the country today, Mercedes-Benz India, today launched the compact luxury sedan segment, by getting the stylish sedan, the new CLA facelift to India. CLA sedan is already one of the very famous and popular model worldwide and India has the same fan following for the same. This is the German manufacturer last launch for 2016 as it prepares for the next year schedule and will launch products which are available in markets worldwide here in India either in CBU or CKD form. There are subtle changes when it comes to the new car which are barely noticeable at first glance but look closely and you will appreciate the new options and changes.
Changes on the facelift include optional multibeam LED headlamps, new LED DRL inside the same headlamps, redesigned front & rear bumpers, which are now more sportier. There is also an new alloy wheel design along reworked LED tail lamp that is different when illuminated. There is a new interior upholstery on offer, new color options to choose from. The interior also gets a revised instrument console, reworked more comfortable seats and most importantly, a new 8-inch infotainment screen for COMAND system that can be operated via the swirl wheel.
Engine options include the same units as before. There is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit that churns out 181 BHP and 300 Nm. Also it has the the 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel on offer. The motor is rated at 134 BHP and 300 Nm. Both these motor are mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox as before as well. No new 9-speed units seen here.
The power with these new entry-level cars are sent to the front wheels. The CLA also gets Mercedes-Benz Dynamic Select System which offers four new drive modes such as Comfort, Sport, Eco and Individual. Standard safety equipment with these cars are high as always. The kit includes 6 airbags, ABS and ESP. The car also has received a 5-star safety rating by Euro NCAP.
