2017 Ducati Monster 939 will be fighting the new segment and best motorcycles in the same segment with similar numbers in every regard
Ducati is re-hauling their lineup with a bunch of new motorcycles that are set to come. No, they aren’t entirely new models but what matters the most to the brand, it’s enthusiast and most importantly, the motorcycle is the engine. Ducati saw sales of the Scrambler rise with the air-cooled engine and off-road retro capabilities that it offered with it. Ducati wants to cash out more on the same and will offer the same engine and idea in the form of the Monster 803 that was spied recently, which we reported. However, there was news that once the 803 comes, the 821 won’t make sense and it will be replaced with the 939. The Ducati Monster 939 has been spied as well and it is coming to every market possible. Let’s find out what we can expect.
2017 Ducati Monster 939 Design and Dimensions
The design is going to be similar as before as the 939 that has been caught here bear no camouflage and every cycle part remains the same. The tail-piece, the headlamps, the fuel tank will be the same. The cockpit will get some changes and we can see that it has been camoflauged. Expect similar numbers than before, a little increase and little decrease there when it comes to dimensions. Overall, the motor is going to be the highlight of the Monster, as if it wasn’t the case over all these years of existence with the Motor.
2017 Ducati Monster 939 Price and Launch
Launch is set to happen EICMA 2016 in November and worldwide roll out should begin shortly. Pricing should be under $10,000 mark and similar prices can be expected worldwide. India prices will be just above Rs. 11 lakhs on-road now.

2017 Ducati Monster 939 Chassis, suspension and brakes
Electronics will be plenty as we can expect ABS, cornering, 3 riding modes, traction control and much more with the motorcycle. Suspension will be sachs on the base variants and the Ohlins will follow on the ‘S’ variant that will follow the 939 launch in couple of months. Brakes will be Brembo monobloc calipers with dual disc setup at the front. Chassis will continue to be the same trellis with minor changes to accommodate the new 939 engine. Single sided swingarm will make it to this bigger Monster.
2017 Ducati Monster 939 Engine And Specification
The engine will be the same Testastretta 11°, L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled motor that makes 113 BHP and 97.9 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Expect a bit of tuning for the motor to develop more power in the low and mid range.
