The name SuperSport in the Ducati lineup may be new to some years However, with Ducati nothing is new. 2017 Ducati Super Sport 939 Design and Dimensions

The design is familiar to the Ducati range of motorcycles seen in the past. The front seen first at the World Ducati Week is inspired from the Panigale, the side fairing are tweaked but are quite similar to the elder siblings. Rear will have set of LED lights. We see a new exhaust that meet Euro 4 emissions that are not so great looking. However, you get a track kit or accessory from Ducati to make sure those not so good-looking end-cans can be removed. Launch is set to happen in Europe first in late 2016 or early 2017. Prices will be 12,000-14,000 pounds in the UK. When you convert into Indian rupees it ends up at around Rs. 9/10 Lakhs. Dollar conversion stands at $14,000.

2017 Ducati SuperSport 939 Chassis, suspension and brakes

The SuperSport S is equipped with multi-adjustable Öhlins upside-down forks that are 48 mm in diameter. Forks are treated with TiN treatment. Suspension is integrated with fuel tank. Radial brake calipers such as Brembo M4 -32 are seen on two discs 320 mm in diameter at the front. 24 degrees rake and trail of 91 mm can be witnessed with this new steel trellis frame. There is a waterproof USB connector, useful for charging the phone too.

2017 Ducati SuperSport 939 Engine And Specification

The engine details are here and it makes 113 BHP of power 96.7 Nm of torque from the Ducati V-Twin that will be liquid-cooled. The engine this time will have 4-valves per cylinder. The 939 engine is 80% new and is bolted to the chassis as a stress member which makes it all new unit. 80% of the torque is available from 3000 RPM itself. 2-1-2 type exhaust makes thing lighter and efficient. , and three Riding Modes such Sport, touring and urban. Urban gives 75 BHP and rest 113 BHP. Touring is progressive Sport is direct.

ABS will be standard with motorcycle and so is traction control system. Ducati Multimedia Information System (DMS) will connect bike through the Bluetooth module available as an accessory. Smartphone can then manage some functions and also via buttons on the handlebar.
