2018 Ducati Hypermotard 939 offers more and continues to be an hooligan that can offers oodles of fun and adrenaline
Italian Superbike manufacturer Ducati has revealed the updated Hypermotard 939. The bike now carries a Star White Silk color scheme and also continues to offer the Ducati Red which carries a red frame and black wheels. The Satin White color is matched with the red frame and wheels which boost its design and characteristics.
2018 Ducati Hypermotard 939 and its SP version are set up as tourer that’s particularly suited for everyday use. The motorbike was first presented as a concept bike at the Milan Show years back in 2005, and the Hypermotrad prototype was an immediate success.
2018 Ducati Hypermotard 939carries a 937 cc Testastretta 11 V-twin, the Hypermotard puts out a claimed 110 bhp and 95 Nm of peak torque. As far as electronics are concerned, the newly revealed Hypermotard 939 comes standard with the Ducati Safety Pack which offers three level ABS, eight level Ducati traction control and three ride modes. Each riding modes carries different electronic settings which gives the super sporty bike three definite personalities.
Talking about the technical aspects, on the suspension front, the Hypermotard 939 mounts a Kayaba upside down 43 mm fork with 170 mm of travel and a Sachs shock with adjustable damping that gives 150 mm of wheel travel. With a dry weight of 181 kg, the Hypermotard 939 has an above-ground seat height of 850 mm. A raised comfort saddle with 20 mm of extra padding is also available as a Ducati performance accessory. The Hypermotrd 9393 mounts pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
The more dynamic Hypermotard 939 SP, on the other hand comes with a fully adjustable Ohlins upside-down 50 mm fork at the front and a fully adjustable Ohlins shock absorber at the rear wheel. The SP also features a raised chassis setup, allowing lean angles of 47.5 degrees which proves to be quite impressive for this kinda track bikes.
The Hypermotard SP gets Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres as standard and its specifications bring the above ground seat height to 890 mm. We are expecting the Hypermotard facelift version should come to India as well, although there’s no as such reports on it as of now. The price is expected to be more or less unchanged from the current models, which retails at INR. 11.16 lakh (ex-showroom).
