2018 Honda Accord does look apart from the previous generation as it continues to look less conservative and more sporty
Honda Unveils redesigned 10th generation 2018 Accord model. The luxurious sedan now comes with a handful of new trims. The 2018 Accord ditches the V6 engine for a whole new turbocharged 2-litre 4 cylinder engine.
The Honda Accord made its debut at an event in the US on Friday and now arrives with an all new design with more improved dimensions and more efficient engine options. The luxury sedan now features a lighter and more rigid body structure and an advanced new chassis design.
The car now sits wider and lower to the ground, has sleeker body lines with sloping roofline and cutting edge finishes which give the luxurious sedan quite a sporty and appealing look. On the rear the Accord features integrated rear spoiler, LED tail lights and a chrome finished dual exhaust system. The new Accord will be offered in three new engine options, two turbo charged and a hybrid all three mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2018 Honda Accord now seems quite fun to drive and up-to-the-minute vehicle due to its stronger sportier stance. The cabin looks a lot more practical and gets more space too with a lot of safety features packed like Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Cross Traffic and Driver Awareness Monitors.
Elsewhere, there are larger arm rest with thick padding along with new taller and very comfortable seats giving the interior quite a premium feel. The driver sits in front of a new seven-inch instrument display, next to the eight inch Display Audio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
The new 2018 Honda Accord FWD is the very first car to get 10-speed automatic transmission. The smaller 1.5-litre makes about 189 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque paired to the CVT unit, while the 2.0-litre turbo comes paired to the all new 10-speed automatic torque convertor and makes 250 bhp 6000 rpm and 370 Nm of peak torque.
The six-speed manual is still available on the 2018 Honda Accord and is offered on the Sport variant. For those interested in Hybrid powertrain, the 2018 Accord Hybrid is on sale as well with the 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle engine paired with electric motors. The 1.5-litre and the 2-litre petrol engine models will be available this fall, with the Hybrid model to start selling in early 2018 for world markets, India launch should happen at Auto Expo or later in 2018.
