Everybody wants to eat a pie of Royal Enfield has with it. The large chunk of market share is unparallel in the segment of 300-500cc. The manufacturer started with this segment years ago and still continues to do so. The capacity range now has taken the spotlight as KTM, Bajaj and other manufacturers are making motorcycles in India to compete with this British-Indian brand. Royal Enfield has clearly decided not to any chances and offer a piece of history with modern touches. Thunderbird X is one such attempt after launching various new models and updated color schemes seen on existing motorcycles. Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X – Design and Dimensions
All the panels on the bike are the same. However, most of them are now matte black to make it look sporty. The fuel tank takes the center stage and offer three colors which are close to the Redditch colors offered earlier. The yellow, blue and red make the bike stand out. Royal Enfield has decided to name it differently and certain changes also makes it stand apart of separate from its classic range of sibling motorcycles.
Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X – Chassis, suspension and brakes
The wheel at the front is a 19-inch and has 90×90 tyre slapped on it. The rear has an 18-inch wheel which has a 120×80 section tyre slapped on it. The single downtube chassis along with telescopic forks and age old twin shocks at the rear are seen. There is dual disc setup seen on this bike. The swingarm was changed to offer the same two years ago.

The Thunderbird 500X will be priced at Rs. 198,878 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the Thunderbird 350X will be priced at Rs. 156,849 (ex-showroom Delhi)
Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X – Engine And Specification
The motorcycle is powered by the same 500 cc single-cylinder motor which makes 27.2 bhp of peak power at 5250 RPM and 41.3 Nm torque at 4,000 RPM. The motor is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Thunderbird 350X on the other hand, comes with a single cylinder, air cooled, twinspark, 346cc engine which produces a maximum power of 19.8 bhp @ 5250 rpm and generates a maximum Torque of 28 Nm @ 4000 rpm.
Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X – Safety and Features
There is still no ABS seen on these bikes. They will be directly seen in April 2019. The new dials have some information along with it will continue to have angel eyes projector equipped headlight at the front and LED tail-lamps.
