2018 Suzuki Ertiga MPV Launch has be done with a new petrol engine and the old 1.3 diesel motor at slightly higher pricing
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest selling car manufacturer is planning a lot of launches this year and has bigger plans in near future. The very popular Maruti Ertiga was first introduced in the year 2012 and received a facelift in 2015. The company has got the second generation of the three-row light MPV Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the showrooms. While the Ertiga has been doing quite good in the competitive Indian market and has been successful in posting segment-leading sales figures since the time of its launch. The new Maruti Ertiga 2018 will help the company to keep up with its sales lead in the MPV segment as the outgoing model is fast ageing now.
The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga MPV was codenamed YHA would utilize the HEARTECT platform of the new generation Swift and Dzire. The newer platform is more lighter and safer claims the company. The all new Ertiga is be more spacious and feature loaded. The car continues to offer 7 seats and a comfortable cabin. To Maintain the family glimpse, the rendering, as would the production model, is built borrowing design cues from the new gen Swift. Upfront the new Ertiga is seen carrying a hexagonal mesh-grille, restyled bumper, all new projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
At the sides, the overall appeal of the profile is quite an evolution. The rear profile of the family MPV flaunts all new wraparound tail-lamps, new bumpers, smaller windscreen and much more. Overall the seven seater MPV looks quite stylish and up to date.
Inside, the new Ertiga gets a light shade of beige and it also gets faux wooden inserts. It also gets flat bottom steering and an instrument panel which is also seen in the new Swift. The dashboard houses a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and it also gets cooled cup holders. Many bits of the interior, such as the dashboard, steering wheel and instrument console, have come from the new Dzire. Also, the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 2018 boasts Suzuki’s excellent SmartPlay infotainment system unit with a 7-inch touchscreen interface.
The HEARTECT is ensuring the next gen 2018 Suzuki Ertiga also has substantial weight savings, leading to improved driving dynamics and fuel efficiency. We see advancements in the safety department as well, with a stronger body shell and better safety equipment such as twin airbags with ABS and EBD.
The engines are 1.5 liter petrol engine making 103 bhp power and 138 Nm torque. The diesel continues to be the same 1.3 liter diesel engine producing 90 bhp power and 200 Nm torque. Both these engines get mated to a 5-speed manual while the petrol engine gets a 4 speed automatic transmission. New Maruti Ertiga is now on sale through the massive 2,200 Arena outlets. It rivals the Renault Lodgy, Honda BR-V and Mahindra Marazzo.
