2019 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 ABS has made it the showrooms. The Pulsar range in the Bajaj portfolio is the most popular among the Indian masses. The Pune-based company introduced NS160 in the Indian market in 2017 and the bike got an enthusiastic response from the buyers. Pulsar NS160 ABS is based on more powerful NS200 and both bikes have their dedicated segments of buyers and followers.
In the latest news about NS160, we have come to know that 2019 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 ABS has been launched. The new safety norms that are coming into effect from April 1, 2019, has mandated all the bikes having engine capacity above 125cc to have ABS system. However, except for the addition of single-channel ABS, there aren’t any cosmetic or mechanical update to the new NS160. In 2018 NS160 got a wider 120×80 section tyre fitted on popular demand instead of the 110×80 fitted at launch along with twin disc setup added.
2019 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 ABS will continue to derive power from the 160cc, single-cylinder, oil- cooled, four-stroke engine capable of putting out 15.5PS @ 8,500 rpm and 14.6Nm@6,500 rpm of max power and max torque respectively. The engine, which is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, uses the twin spark plug technology for achieving smooth performance and higher efficiency.
Addition of single-channel ABS system will add to the kerb weight though we don’t think that is going to have any major impact on the fuel efficiency of the bike. Bajaj has already started equipping its 125cc-above bikes with new ABS system so as to avoid last minute rush. The company has already equipped the entire range with ABS now.
The addition of the ABS system has made the 2019 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 ABS retail at Rs. 93,000. The Non-ABS costed Rs. 85,800 ex-showroom. In terms of competition, NS160 takes on the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4v, Honda CB Hornet 160R, and Yamaha FZ S Fi among others.
