All New Honda Jazz India launch will happen next year. International markets will get by late 2019
Japanese carmaker Honda will unveil next-generation Jazz at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. Until now, the 2020 All New Honda Jazz has been under wraps but recently a leaked document has revealed what the upcoming model will look like. Honda hasn’t tinkered much with the basic silhouette although plenty of new design elements have been introduced on the car. Take, for example, a newly designed grill which is flanked by projector headlamps on either side.
LED DRLs are part of the front fascia while an air dam completes its sporty look. In the profile, changes have been made in the way the window line is done and larger wheels will be part of the package in the Jazz’s sportier Type-R variant. At the back, new Jazz gets a pair of LED tail lamps (split-type). Honda hasn’t revealed interiors of Jazz yet though from the previous spy shots it can be safely concluded that the car will receive a brand new cabin.
In the global market, 2020 All New Honda Jazz comes with a dual-motor hybrid engine and 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol motor. The latter puts out 220PS and 245Nm of max power and max torque respectively and will only be offered in Type-R variant. It is not clear whether Honda will make the motors available on the Indian variant or not. However, one thing is sure that India-specific Jazz will feature 1.2-liter i-VTEC and 1.5-liter i-DTEC petrol and diesel engine respectively.
These motors will be updated to meet upcoming BS-VI emission norms and will be offered in new Jazz. New Jazz gets India launch sometimes in 2020 and we guesstimate the prices in the range of Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Once launched, the new Jazz will take on Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti-Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and soon to be launched Tata Altroz.
