Bajaj has updated its most affordable Pulsar with BS6 compliant technology. Pulsar 125 Neon has got a BS6 engine and now it comes with a price tag of Rs 68,762 (Drum brake version) and Rs 73,088 (disc brake version). In terms of the price difference, the 2020 BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 125 Fi versions are around Rs 5,200 and Rs 6,500 costlier than their outgoing BS4 models respectively.
Thanks to the addition of a fuel-injection system and redesigned exhaust, the Pulsar 125 has been able to achieve BS6 compliancy. Bajaj has replaced the carburetor-fed fuel system with fuel injection technology and this along with revised exhaust, has made the bike compliant to stricter BS6 emission norms.
Currently, the BS4 Pulsar 125 Neon puts out 12bhp and 11Nm from its 125-cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It’ll be interesting to note how these performance figures will change in the BS6 version once the numbers are revealed by the company.
There won’t be any cosmetic or graphical change on 2020 BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 125 Fi versions of the bike will look similar to its outgoing BS4 model. The structural underpinnings, suspension system, and braking hardware have been carried forward in the interest of keeping the cost under check. The new Pulsar 125 Neon will primarily complete against Honda SP 125 which has recently been launched in the market at a price of Rs 72,900 (drum brake) and Rs 77,100 (disc brake).
