2020 BS6 Mahindra KUV100 NXT is here now, with only a petrol engine. Available in a total of four trims, the prices of the new model starts at Rs 5.50 lakh with top of the line version going all the way to the Rs 7.12 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom Mumbai). The company has discontinued the entry-level K2 variant that was available in the outgoing model. In addition, a 1.2-liter diesel engine had also been discontinued as the BS6 upgradation of the motor would have got the cost of SUV out of the consideration criteria of compact SUV customers. Further, the abysmally low demand for the diesel variant prompted Mahindra to call it a day on the diesel version.

The 2020 BS6 Mahindra KUV100 NXT has 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine has been upgraded to meet more stringent BS6 emission requirements. There hasn’t been any change in the output of the motor as it continues to produce 83 bhp and 115Nm of max power and max torque respectively. The transmission option hasn’t changed either as the 5-speed manual gearbox has been carried over from the outgoing model.

2020 BS6 Mahindra KUV100 NXT is similar to its BS4 version in design and styling. It features dynamic grille, slim headlamp assembly, hexagonal air dam, and vertically stacked fog lamps. Inside the cabin, the feature list remains the same with top-of-the-line K8 trim getting a large 7-inch touch screen infotainment system equipped with a satellite-based navigation system.

Besides, you get steering mounted audio controls, multi-information display, cooled glove box, and height adjustment for the driver seat. The overall cabin layout is very practical and you can find the number of storage spaces for placing your knick-knacks without any issue. That said Mahindra has ditched the 5-seat configuration in the new model completely with new KUV100 NXT being available only in 6-seat layout. Just so you know, 2020 BS6 Mahindra KUV100 NXT is pitted against the likes of Ford Freestyle and Maruti Suzuki Ignis among others.
