ŠKODA AUTO India had commenced the booking window for the much-awaited new RAPID AT against a refundable fee of ₹ 25,000 (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only), across all its authorized dealership facilities in the country and on the ŠKODA AUTO India website: https://www.buyskodaonline.co.in/. Having secured a priority status, these pre-booked 2020 BS6 Skoda Rapid TSi Automatic will be delivered to customers from 18 September 2020 as now, the launch is set for 17 September 2020.
At the heart of the new 2020 BS6, Skoda Rapid TSi Automatic is an incredible new mill. Displacing 999 cm3, the new three-cylinder 1.0 TSI petrol engine fosters an astounding 110 PS (81 kW) of power at 5000 – 5500 rpm and 175 Nm of torque at 1750 – 4000 rpm. The fuel efficiency too is exemplary. The new RAPID AT, with the six-speed automatic transmission, offers 16.24 kmpl under standard test conditions.
When compared with the outgoing 1.6 MPI engine, the new 2020 BS6 Skoda Rapid TSi Automatic offers a 5% upsurge in power and a 14% rise in torque output. At the same time, the new RAPID offers a 9% increase in fuel efficiency against the previous motor.
Skoda Rapid gets safety features like dual airbags and anti-lock braking system as standard across its product portfolio. The safety and security equipment on the RAPID RIDER PLUS includes a wide range of features, such as the Parktronic rear parking sensors, anti-glare interior rearview mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height-adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package, fuel supply cut off in a crash, and engine immobilizer with a floating code system.
Skoda Rapid feature list also gets Climatronic technology along with dust and pollen filter, adjustable dual rear AC vents, 12 V power socket in front and rear centre console, height and length adjustable multifunction steering wheel, adjustable headrests, foldable armrests, central locking system with remote control and multi-functional display.

The RAPID nameplate was incipiently used in the 1930s for the Type 901 and the 1980s for the rear engine RAPID Coupé.
