SsangYong unveiled the Rexton facelift for the foreign market a year ago, However, India didn’t get it. The Mahindra Alturas G4 test mule was spotted testing by us in Pune and it was the old Rexton in disguise with a BS6 engine. Mahindra always has tested the Alturas in the disguise of the Ssangyong Rexton that is why we see the old Rexton grille in spyshots. 2020 BS6 Mahindra Alturas G4 has been introduced with a similar grille as the original car launched in November 2018. The Rexton facelift aka Alturas Facelift could come anytime in India by early 2021 or else we will get directly get the 2022 version which is a major leap in changes.
Mahindra Alturas G4 is currently available in the market is a BS6 compliant model and packs in a 2.2-litre diesel mill that pumps out 181 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque. The current set up uses a 7-speed Mercedes Benz sourced automatic transmission.
BS6 Mahindra Alturas features are the same touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Nappa leather seats, powered driver seat, climate control, cruise control, ventilated seats, power tailgate and a sunroof along with more is on offer. That’s not it, the safety net consists of nine airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensor for both, front and rear, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill assist, and hill descent as well.
2020 BS6 Mahindra Alturas price has been increased by Rs 1.0 lakh. However, in October 2020, the brand offered discounts up to Rs 3.05 lakhs. The current model wears a price tag of Rs 28.7 lakh to Rs 31.7 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The 2020 BS6 Mahindra Alturas G4 rivals the Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X, MG Gloster and the Toyota Fortuner.
