Hyundai has silently made some changes in the model line-up of its compact SUV, the Venue. While some of the older variants have been discontinued, two new variants S(O) and SX(O) have been added by the company at Rs 6.90 lakh and Rs 11.75 lakh respectively. The entry-level variant for the diesel Venue is now S(O) although previously you could buy an oil-burner in base E and S variants too. This change has impacted the price as now for purchasing diesel Venue, one has to shell out Rs 9.45 lakh though previously it can be had at a starting price of Rs 8.38 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
In the petrol variants, the turbocharged engine is available from the newly introduced S(O) trim onwards. The E and S variants in the petrol line-up will be available only with the naturally aspirated variant of the petrol engine. Further, Hyundai has taken the top SX(O) trim of the turbo petrol with manual transmission off the shelf. However, the fully-loaded 1.0-litre turbo petrol option is now available with an iMT gearbox.
As a part of the overall revision, S(O) and SX(O) executive trims have been added to the list. S(O) has now become the entry-level variant for turbo petrol and diesel models while the SX(O) comes only in diesel guise. There is no manual transmission option available in the turbo petrol variants as customers can choose only from either an iMT or a 7-speed DSG. Also, the mid-level SX variant of Venue now gets new steel wheels in place of the alloys in the previous models.
