Equipping its popular Burgman 400 with the latest technology and equipment, Suzuki Motorcycle has announced the arrival of the 2021 Burgman 400 for the overseas market. The scooter now meets the stringent Euro-5 emission norms and features comprehensive updates in its engine and electronic system.

In comparison to the outgoing model, the 2021 variant is slightly down on the power and torque as it puts out 29PS and 35.2Nm in its latest avatar (2PS and 0.8Nm less than its predecessor). The engine displaces a similar capacity of 400cc and features a single-cylinder configuration with a liquid-cool mechanism in place. Suzuki has made comprehensive changes in the cylinder head and cam profiles besides using a different injector to squeeze maximum combustion efficiency from the unit.

Despite being a tad less powerful, the new model boasts a higher top speed than the outgoing version. Also, Suzuki has fitted a new catalytic converter to make Burgman compliant with the Euro-5 emission norms. Enhancing the rider safety is the new traction control system that in conjunction with the lighter ABS unit make the new model a new benchmark on the safety in the segment. The scooter has a weight of 218 kg and it comes with a 13.5-litre fuel tank capacity. It rides on the 120-section and 150-section front and rear rubber respectively.

In terms of exteriors, the new version has got a lot of similarities with the outgoing model. It has got LED lights all around and the semi-digital instrument cluster has also been carried forward. There is no dearth of storage spaces as the 2021 Suzuki Burgman 400 features a huge 42-litre under-seat storage and 6.3-litre compartment storage at the front. The stepped seat on the scooter is very comfortable and adding to the ease is a very useful feature of the adjustable backrest. Some other significant features on the scooter include a large flyscreen and cutaway footboard.

2021 Suzuki Burgman 400 will be available in the UK market from September 2021 and will cost more than its existing version selling at £6599 (Rs. 6.6 lakhs). The scooter is likely to be offered in three different colours – Metallic Matt Sword Silver, Solid Iron Grey, and Metallic Matt Black No.2.
