Many automobile companies are gearing to launch updated models of their existing cars in the Indian market this year. Right from the budget cards to the luxury models, 2022 is going to be one of the most eventful years for the industry.
Among all the launches that are planned ahead this year, one of the most anticipated is the 2022 Audi Q3. The luxury crossover has been recently snapped testing on Indian roads in a completely undisguised manner. The vehicle was seen along with the Q3 Sportback which is also was rumored to come to India. The test mule was spotted in Maharashtra and according to sources, Audi will assemble 2022 Q3 in India to keep its final prices in check.
It is important to note that Audi has been selling second-generation Q3 abroad for more than three years now. The model that will go on sale in India features updated looks with styling more along the lines of its bigger sibling Q8. 2022 Q3 will be bigger than its predecessor which means there will be more space inside for better comfort and convenience for occupants. It will also be having a long list of equipment to ward off the competition in a decisive manner.
2022 Q3 will receive a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that will be paired with the 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission for channelizing the power to wheels. The Q3 Sportback could get a 250 PS tune with the Q3 SUV could get a 190 PS tune. This is also because Audi will discontinue the Q2 in India just like how they are doing it globally. The crossover is expected to launch in the Indian market later this year and upon arrival, it will take on the likes of Mercedes GLA, Volvo XC40, and BMW X1 among others.
For now, the focus of the Audi is to bring in more models before that. The Audi Q4 E-Tron or Q4 Sportback could make it before that. Audi has ended 2021 on a positive note with the total sales of 3293 units in India, translating into an impressive sales growth of 100%.
