For the Indian market, the vehicle will come equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol powertrain, paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. Something that is on the Wranlger right now which makes 280 PS and 400 Nm! A much lighter curb weight means this engine should be good enough to compete with rivals such as BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, Lexus And Audi. A diesel is going to be missing surprisingly, period.
The state-of-the-art Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a perfect balance of sophistication and capability. It is equipped with the legendary Quadra-Trac I 4×4 system and Selec-Terrainâ„¢ traction management system that together deliver superior, unrivaled 4×4 capability with composed on-road dynamics.
The driver has access to four driving modes – Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand, and Snow. Inside, customers are treated to a plush and spacious leather interior with exclusive features such as a co-passenger interactive screen, Head Up Display (HUD), power liftgate, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Expect a price of around Rs. 70 lakhs ex-showroom.
India is the only market in the world outside North America where the all-new Grand Cherokee is locally assembled. The launch should happen later this year around Q3 2022. With all SUVs in the Jeep portfolio almost fit for Indian consumers’ needs and legendary 4×4 systems, Jeep could consider bringing all their models to India in an SUV-hungry market like any other around the world. Expect the SRT version of the Grand Cherokee to follow in the Indian market as well just like how it was launched back in 2018.
