MV Agusta is gearing for the launch of its new adventure bike, the 950cc ADV. The bike will be based on a new platform that along with this new bike will spawn a range of sport and naked bikes for the manufacturer in the future. MV currently offers bikes in the range of 800cc and 1000cc naked and the new adventure bike with its 950cc capacity will slot in between these categories.
Powering the bike will be the new 3-cylinder motor that will be available in two different states of tune – one with higher torque and lower power and another one with higher power and lower torque. In fact, the power figures of MV’s 800cc variants also vary, and depending upon the variant, the output is pegged at between 110bhp and 157bhp.
MV has already started development work on the new platform and according to the sources, the company has set the target of late 2022 for the unveiling of this new range. The sales are expected to begin in 2023 and the new range will be unique in terms of its capabilities, performance, and feature list.
According to the top echelon of the MV Agusta, the new range will exhibit the pinnacle of the company’s technology and engineering prowess and specific attention is being paid to equip new range with smart features. The company is making a claim that there is nothing like this new range is available in the market. Now how true this claim turns out can only be known once the new bike makes its commercial debut in 2023.
The work is also on the up-gradation of Brutale 1000 platform and along with it, MV is also co-developing a new 350cc twin-cylinder platform in partnership with Chinese company Loncin. MV has achieved enviable growth in recent years as it has grown 80% in a period between 2019 and 2020. This year, the company is now aiming to grow further by 60%.
