Iconic Italian motorcycle maker MV Agusta has pulled the wraps off the 2022 F3 RR for global markets. The highly delectable motorcycle gets updates for the new model year with a revamped aerodynamics package, new hardware and a lot more for better performance. Prominently, the 2022 MV Agusta F3 RR gets new carbon fibre winglets that promise a downforce of 8 kg on the front end going at 240 kmph. There is also a redesigned front fender that drastically improves airflow across the bike.
Also new on the motorcycle is the updated electronics package, instrument console and revision to the chassis. The update electronics suits comprises a new six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) created in collaboration with e-Novia. This unit supports lean-sensitive traction control, wheelie control and cornering ABS from Continental. The quickshifter has been upgraded to the third-generation versions, which offers faster and smoother up and down quick-shifting. It is paired with the 6-speed gearbox.
Upgrades to the chassis include new frame plates that the company says increase torsional and lateral rigidity. There are also new wheels that are 7 per cent lighter than the previous cast wheels on the F3 RR, and get 10 per cent lower moment of inertia.
The 2022 MV Agusta F3 RR is powered by the same 798cc, inline three-cylinder engine tuned for 147PS at 13,000RPM and 88Nm of peak torque at 10,000RPM. The bike gets an optional racing kit that further adds a new, track-only Akrapovic exhaust and ECU with a racing map. The racing kit bumps the bike’s performance further to 155PS. The racing kit also adds a single-seat cover, CNC machined brake and clutch levers and fuel filler cap.
The 2022 MV Agusta F3 RR is priced at 21,900 Euros in Europe and will also go on sale in other developed markets too. Meanwhile, the MV Agusta brand isn’t represented in India anymore. So we will have to wait till we see the brand officially make a comeback to see this model go on sale here. Expect prices to be around Rs. 25 lakh when it does arrive.
