Skoda is gearing to give a mild facelift to its fourth generation Octavia sedan. The facelifted model will come with refreshed look and added equipment to lure a large number of customers to its fold. The test mule of the upcoming model has been spotted testing abroad for the very first time, giving away important design changes that will manifest in the upcoming model.
At the front, minor tweaks will happen to both the headlamp assembly and the bumper. The signature butterfly grill will also have its share of changes although at the back the split LED tail lamps are likely to be carried over. Skoda could install new alloy wheels on the car to round off the refreshed look of the updated version.
Inside the cabin, changes will be minimal and we expect the model to retain its 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system which offers both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other significant features that are available in the current generation Octavia such as a virtual cockpit, electrically adjustable front seat, wireless charging system, Canton audio system, and dual-zone automatic climate control are also likely to be available in the facelifted version. However, the new version of Octavia for India could offer ADAS with the features such as fatigue warning, collision avoidance assist, and blind-spot detection among others.
Under the hood, things will remain the same as before as Skoda will carry forward its 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is capable of putting out 190PS of raw power. The transmission option will remain limited to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The new version is expected to make its debut globally in early 2023 and the Indian market will get the taste of the things in the latter half of the Year. The current price range of Octavia stretches between Rs 26.85 lakh to Rs 29.85 lakh and expects the facelifted version to retail in the range of Rs 28 lakh to Rs 32 lakh.
