Toyota Thailand has launched the 2024 Fortuner SUV in the market with updates for the new model year. The 2024 Toyota Fortuner appears the same but gets notable updates on the feature front including more power on the GR-Sport variant in Thailand.
The 2024 Toyota Fortuner base trim is called the Leader variant in Thailand and gets features like TPMS and a new Silver Sky Metallic colour scheme as standard. The mid LTD variant now gets a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging and TPMS.
The top-spec Toyota Fortuner GR-Sport is the top variant on sale and carries over all the new features. It also packs more power at 227PS and 550Nm from its 2.8-litre diesel engine. In comparison to the current version, that’s an increment of 20PS and 50Nm.
The Thai-spec Fortuner is also now more expensive for MY2024 with prices going up between 15,000 Bahut and 35,000 Bahut (approx. Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 1 lakh), depending on the variant.
The Toyota Fortuner arrives in India from Thailand and there’s a good chance the automaker will bring the updated model in the following months. While the feature addition should be easier, it’ll be interesting to see if the company introduces the more powerful engine from the GR-Sport variant in the Indian market. The current generation Fortuner is heading towards the end of its lifecycle with the next generation expected to arrive next year. The new Fortuner is confirmed to get mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines to meet latest emission norms.
