Bajaj Auto recently launched its most powerful Pulsar yet, the NS400Z. Going forward, the company plans to expand the 400cc lineup, starting with the updated Dominar 400. The company is now working on the revamp of the Dominar motorcycle. The facelift version is expected to have many features, including Bluetooth connectivity and a new TFT screen with customization feature. Dominar 400 can also share functions with NS400Z and could get even more also. The Dominar prices will go higher as it offers more fuel range, better swingarm and higher quality of parts and equipment over the NS 400Z.
The feature list could include ride-by-wire, traction control and multi-mode navigation. The report also states that the next Dominar 400 will be lighter than its predecessor. The bike is on the heavy side, weighing 193 kg. However, the engine remains the same. The bike will continue to use the 373cc liquid-cooled engine producing 39.5 PS and 35 Nm. Lighter wheel and brakes, USD front suspension and monoshock rear suspension will be changed too to lighten it a fair bit.
The NS 400 Z is already 19 kgs lighter than the Dominar thanks to a new subframe, swingarm and lighter/stronger alloys. The Dominar 250 could come back even stronger if it ends up using the Bajaj’s newly found 250cc oil cooled engine in the Pulsar. The KTM derived engine is an expensive proposition. This could help Bajaj grab a lot of attention thanks to a striking price point it can put the Dominar at in the Indian and abroad markets. Expect a Diwali launch for the Dominar 400.
