The Honda City was first launched in 2020 and has been refreshed for 2023 with sharper styling, additional features and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package. This has had asking for more and we are overly excited to place it as part of our long-term fleet. Sedans are a rare today and are Obsidian Blue colored City is just perfect for everyday aesthetics.
Our City arrived with just under 10,000 km on the clock and is ready to tackle everyday life. Its primary role will be as a 20km urban commute with a mix of smooth and not-so well crafted roads. This will be the perfect test of comfort and fuel efficiency in real-world scenarios. The City is renowned for its excellent handling and spacious cabin, making it ideal for weekend trips and intercity trips too. We tested and came impress with everything, including its stellar fuel economy and highway refinement. Overall, 16-17 km/l was achieved twice in our tank to tank testing method for highway trips. The trips within the urban scenario delivered 11-13 km/l, which we think is impressive.
The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine delivers an impressive 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque to the road, more than enough performance for spirited driving while also ensuring excellent fuel economy. This responsive engine combined with a smooth CVT transmission makes for a truly relaxing driving experience. The key features include an electric sunroof, semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, Honda Sensing package which has lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and more along with six airbags in the safety package. The infotainment system is simple and effective, but we would love to get it much better in the future.
With a fresh look, comfortable interior, engaging drive, and a full complement of features, the Honda City has everything you need on a daily basis. The City has been priced well enough this time from Honda against its rivals and its key highlight are reliability, quality and fuel economy over all its rivals. We think Honda City still has a dominant position in the Indian market for buyers who don’t want attention and yet get everything they want and deserve!
