2017 Mahindra XUV 500 Sportz Edition is back in the market as the company offers similar changes on the SUV as before to spice things up
Mahindra’s most popular SUV, the XUV in the market is a critical success as well a hit out in the market as well. The SUV has won accolades for its performance, pricing and the way Mahindra has loaded its vehicle with features and provides all of this in a very good package which delivers everything as expected as this price point. The sales are consistent at four digit numbers in the mid level and Mahindra wants to make sure it offers a bit of spicier package every now and then. The new competition from rivals such as Tata Hexa, Hyundai Tucson and Innova makes Mahindra opt for this very popular edition to make it back again.
The manufacturer has again launched the Sportz version which seems to be done on public demand. The SUV is back with the SPORTZ stickers on the doors, subtle amount of graphics around the fog light area, orange color door handle, cheetah inspired stickers on the bonnet, orange roof rails, Sportz emblem on the B-Pillar and on the a sticker on the ORVM. The interior continues to be the same and this version comes with only the W10 variant which have automatic and manual gearbox options. The W10 variant is loaded to gill with start-stop system, sunroof, a revised infotainment and other features that have been added in MY16.
No mechanical changes means, the SUV continues to be offered with the same 2.2-litre mHawk engine that churns out 140 PS and 330 Nm of torque. The SUV comes with automatic as well as manual transmissions on offer. The 2.2 engine means, it won’t be offered in the Delhi-NCR region for now, but it will be made available everywhere else. The price hike for all of this is just Rs. 10,000 ex-showroom, Mumbai) when compared to the standard model.
