Mercedes Benz S-Class Connoisseur’s edition launched in the country, offers even more than the already tech loaded, normal S-Class
German giant Mercedes-Benz has launched their flagship super luxury model, the S-Class ‘Connoisseur’s Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs. 1.21 crore (Ex-showroom, Pune). The fashionable S-Class will be available in two variants, the S350 and the S400. The price of S400 starts from Rs.1.32 crore (Ex-showroom, Pune). Mercedes Benz has upped the flagship model with a lot of new innovative features like Night View Assist Plus, Executive rear seat with thigh support with seat reclination up to 43.5 degrees and the air balance perfume package to make this product literally irresistible. The Night View Assist Plus is featured for the first time in the S-Class Connoisseur’s Edition in India.
The Night View Assist Plus enables drivers to detect pedestrians or larger animals sooner in the dark and they are clearly highlighted in the cockpit display. The system illuminates the road ahead with two anti-dazzle infrared lamps. The entire area within high-beam headlamp range is shown as a crystal-clear grey-scale image. The luxury sedan also offers ‘Energizing Hot Stone Massage’ where the occupants can choose from two intensities low and high, and the seat backrest comes with a massage mat with 14 air chambers which can be inflated or deflated with the help of fast responding solenoid valves, which develop a wave like hot stone massage effect.
The Mercedes Benz S-class Connoisseurs’ Edition comes with the same 3-litre, V6 diesel engine producing 258 PS with a peak torque of 620 Nm and the S400 comes powered by a 3-litre, V6 petrol engine which churns out 333 PS and 480 Nm of torque, when connected to a 7G- Tronic plus gearbox. The S-Class will be locally manufactured in Mercedes Benz’s world class production facility in Chakan, Pune. The S350d comes loaded with a burmester 13 surround sound system and the S400 gets 24 speakers and nine tweeters, which offer 1520 watts of power. This is Mercedes Benz India’s fourth launch of the year.
