Top 5 Selling Vehicles now includes the TVS Jupiter. TVS Jupiter, a scooter from the south-based TVS Motor Company’s, has ascended the ladder from the ninth position in October 2016 to the fifth position in October 2017, removing the Hero Passion from its spot in the top 10 selling two-wheelers October 2017 list. Jupiter is the first scooter of the TVS Company to enter the top five list. The TVS’s 109.7cc Jupiter ragingly got 81,326 units sold in the month of October this year, subject to a surge of 22.5 percent over October 2016, where its sales volume stood at 63,014 units. The company is also planning to fabricate the electric version of its best-selling moped model, Jupiter by June 2018. It is anticipated that the scooter will arrive with a lithium-ion battery, which travel up to a distance of 50 km range.
Also, comparing with a yet another model from the TVS family, it is observed that TVS XL Super moped down skated its way, from the fourth position to the seventh position, which was quite evident from the pecking order at 75,037 units against 87,746 units in October 2016. Among the auto-vehicles and mopeds of the other brands, Hero’s flagship motorcycle Splendor and Bajaj Pulsar slipped down to the second and ninth positions due to the selling out of 215,631 units and 64,233 units respectively.
Meanwhile, the Hero Passion and Hero Glamour climbed up to fourth and sixth ranks at 88,997 and 76,830 units respectively. The new debutant in the category is the Bajaj CT 100 with 59,827 units of the vehicle being sold out in the month October 2017. The Hero’s HF Deluxe retained its third rank in the list of best-selling mopeds. At the same time, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s Activa leads the top 10 two-wheelers October 2017 competition with 259,071 units sold, correlated to 250,681 units in the same month, but the previous year.
The scooter segment in our country has experienced a splendid growth and is constantly outpacing the industry.
