2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 Spied Testing. Will go against the likes of the BMW RNineT
The Triumph Scrambler 1200 has been spotted testing and it will be the latest upgrade for the Bonneville line up. The Scrambler 1200 will be more of an off-road machine in comparison with other motorcycles in its line up. Once launched Triumph will position the Scrambler 1200 above the Street Scrambler.
Having a look at the spy shots, we come to know that the Triumph Scrambler 1200 gets twin Brembo monobloc brakes, which can be effective to control this off-road machine. It may also get switchable ABS for better offroading. Triumph is also offering the Scrambler 1200 with Showa USD front forks and Ohlins twin-shocks at the rear. This suspension setup will considerably increase the seat height.
It also appears that the Scrambler 1200 is running on 21-inch spoked tubeless off-road tyres at the front which is also seen in the Tiger XC series. The scrambler 1200 also features a single monopod instrument cluster, leather bench seats and LED headlight unit. It also gets large bash plate, reinforced handguards and brush guards as seen in the spy pics. Speaking of electronics, Triumph may also offer ride-by-wire, traction control and ride modes to the Scrambler 1200.
Powering the Triumph Scrambler 1200 is a liquid-cooled, parallel twin 1200cc petrol engine. This mill also powers the Bonneville Bobber. This engine is capable of producing 77 horsepower and 106Nm of twist. Triumph may tune the gear ratios for low-end performance hence improving its off-road capabilities.
Triumph will be importing the Scrambler 1200 via the CKD route and it may be launched in the Indian market somewhere around the mid half of 2019. We expect that the Scrambler will be priced between 11-12 lakh ex-showroom. Triumph may showcase the Scrambler 1200 at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show which will be held in the month of November.
