2019 Ford Ecosport Titanium Variants Gets Minor Change aesthetically, inside the cabin
In order to stay relevant in the wake of heightened competition, Ford has updated its EcoSport SUV with a new instrument cluster. The Titanium and Titanium + trims of the EcoSport have got the new cluster which was, thus far, only available on the top-line S variant of EcoSport.
The new instrument cluster looks modern and stylish. It has an attractive layout and features a large 4.2-inch multi-information display (MID) at the center which is flanked by a chrome-surround speedometer and tachometer. In comparison, the older instrument cluster, which continues to be a part of EcoSport’s lower variants, features a smaller MID and plainer dials.
The change in the competitive scenario with the advent of newly launched Mahindra XUV3OO has prompted the Ford to carry out this subtle but important alteration in the EcoSport range. Currently, Maruti Vitara Brezza leads the segment with average monthly sales of 13k units followed by a close fight between Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport for the second spot. However, things are bound to change now with the launch of XUV3OO which has the potential to disturb the status quo of the segment.
Just so you know, Ford EcoSport comes with three engine options – two petrol and one diesel. Petrol EcoSport can be had either with a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 125bhp and mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 1.5-liter mill putting out 123bhp and coupled with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Diesel engine, on the other hand, comes with a single 1.5-liter capacity with an output of 100bhp mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Ford EcoSport retails in the Indian market in the price range of Rs 7.82 – 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is pitted against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV3OO.
