After launching the brands like Interceptor and Continental GT, Royal Enfield (RE) is looking to revive its yet another iconic brand, in the making. The company submitted the trademark application in the month of February earlier this year which was subsequently published in April 2019. Royal Enfield Bobber could be anything as of now.

Not many details have been available at the moment though word has it that RE will launch the bobber type motorcycle with a high powered parallel twin-cylinder engine configuration. The original single-seater made decades ago was powered by a 700-cc, parallel-twin engine and was designed along the same lines as the currently selling Classic range of RE motorcycles are styled. The KX Bobber concept that RE unveiled at 2018 EICMA Motorcycles Show held in Milan last year will be a game-changer for the brand.

Both Interceptor INT 650 and Continental GT 650 come powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine putting out 47bhp@7,250rpm and 52Nm@5,250rpm. The engine features single overhead cam arrangement and comes with the slipper clutch with the additional convenience of assist function. We expect the bobber range to have the same engine and gearbox from 650 Twins. Further, RE is expected to use suspension hardware employed on 650 Twins for the bobber brand to keep the price in check.

Speculations are also rife that for European markets, RE will use TB-X name for launching Thunderbird X models as the name Thunderbird is already registered with Triumph Motorcycles. As far as the Indian market is concerned, RE is gearing for launch of next-generation Classic Range and Thunderbird Motorcycles next year. These models have already been spotted testing on roads quite a few times in the past and will be compliant with upcoming BS-VI emission norms.
