The BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 160NS is ready to be launched in the market as the updated bike has started arriving at the company’s dealerships across the country. The price of the bike has been pegged at Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom) with the on-road price is estimated to be around Rs 1.25 lakh.
The engine has been updated in order to meet BS6 emission norms and accordingly, the company has made some significant changes to the power train – addition of fuel-injection technology and catalytic convertor being the primary ones.
In its currently selling BS4 avatar, the Pulsar 160NS comes powered by a 160.3 cc capacity, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine featuring single overhead cam (SOHC) architecture with a rated output of 15.5 PS and 14.6 Nm. The 2020 BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 160NS upgradation to new emissions norms will have no impact on the performance figures but the extent of impact will be revealed only at the formal launch of the bike.
There is no change to the design and styling of the bike as the 2020 BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 160NS as it carries forward sharp headlamps, chiseled fuel-tank, part-digital instrument cluster, and clip-on handlebars of the outgoing model.
Braking is via discs at both front and rear while suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks in front and mono shock absorber at the back. In terms of competition, the 2020 BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 160NS will be up against the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Hornet 160R, KTM 125 Duke, and Yamaha MT 15 among others.
