Skoda Auto India launched the Kodiaq facelift and we have all good things to say about the SUV that can put some luxury offerings to shame. That said, the Kodiaq isn’t exactly competitively priced in its segment but the premium feels justified. Well, if you believe in this as much as we do then shelling out a little extra shouldn’t bother as that’s what will happen soon. As per Skoda dealers, the Kodiaq facelift is all set to get more expensive by Rs. 1,00,000.
The price hike won’t bring additional features. The Kodiaq is locally assembled in India. So, fluctuating exchange rates and component prices do have an effect on the SUV’s sticker price. Despite that, the model is off to a good start with a waiting period of about 4-5 months and we hear order books are now at full capacity. The bookings are still open though for Rs. 50,000 and at revised higher prices for next year.
The Skoda Kodiaq arrives in three variants – Style, Sportline, and the top-spec Laurin & Klement. Power comes from the 2.0-litre turbocharged TSI petrol with 190PS and 320Nm of peak torque on offer. The motor is paired with the 7-speed DSG and AWD as standard. Other features include LED headlamps with headlight washer, paddle shifters, ventilated seats, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital cockpit, three-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof. You also get nine airbags, 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, ESC, electronic differential lock, dynamic chassis control, TPMS and more. The Kodiaq facelift takes on the Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Volkswagen Tiguan MG Gloster and more.
