Bajaj Auto trademarked the ’Pulsar Eleganz’ and ‘Pulsar Elan’ names recently and this has opened a whole new box of possibilities. While we know that the Pulsar range is undergoing an overhaul with the existing range being upgraded to the new Pulsar 250 platform, recent reports suggest that Bajaj might also reintroduce the original Pulsar in a completely new modern-classic avatar. While details aren’t clear, odds are the Pulsar Eleganz and the Pulsar Elan names will show up on a retro-styled motorcycle, which could tie in with the brand’s current range of motorcycles.
It’s too early to talk about what the Bajaj Pulsar Eleganz and Pulsar Elan have to offer. Do remember, the first generation Pulsar is well over 20 years old now and definitely has aged well. Reintroducing the iconic design could be something Bajaj might want to explore. All the more considering the company lacks a modern-classic offering in its portfolio. However, with the Bajaj Chetak, the manufacturer showed it could retain the ethos of the original offering in a brilliantly styled package and that has our hopes up if the original Pulsar has to make a comeback in a modern avatar.
Bajaj Auto is planning to overhaul its complete Pulsar range. The Pulsar 250 platform will underpin future offerings and that includes the next-generation Pulsar 125, Pulsar N160 and possibly a new N200 as well. The new Pulsar 125 and Pulsar N160 were already spotted testing and rumours are rife that the models will arrive in the second half of the year. Both models heavily borrow from the N250 including the design language, panels and more.
We expect more details on the Pulsar Eleganz and Pulsar Elan to unfold in the coming months.
