CNG vehicles are increasingly becoming the preferred choice of car buyers across India. The rising prices of petrol and significantly high retail prices of electric vehicles have made sure that the CNG emerges as the most optimum option for car buyers, at least for now. To leverage this trend, car makers have also started rolling out CNG variants of their popular models and in the spec comparison review, we pit Tata Tiago CNG against Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG to find out which one you should bet your money on.

Specifications
In terms of the engine capacity, both Tata and Hyundai come powered by a 1.2-litre engine capacity albeit a big difference lies in terms of the number of cylinders. While the Tata has chosen to go ahead with 3-cylinder configuration, Hyundai comes powered by a proper four-cylinder architecture.
The power output in the case of Tiago is rated at 73.4PS and 95 Nm while Hyundai puts out 69 PS along with 95.2Nm of max torque. Both cars come with 5-speed manual transmission as a standard option for buyers. Tata has revealed the fuel efficiency figures for Tiago CNG which is 26.49 km/kg while there is no official figure revealed by Hyundai for Nios CNG.

Dimensions
In terms of the dimensions, Hyundai has an edge over the Tata in length, width, and crucial aspect of wheelbase. Grand i10 Nios CNG measures 3805mm in length, 1680mm in width, and 1520mm in height while Tiago CNG comes with 3765mm X 1677mm X 1535 mm (L X W X H). The wheelbase of i10 Nios is 2450mm while Tiago has 2400mm between center of front and rear wheels. The fuel tank capacity of both cars is the same at 60 liters though Hyundai has a larger boot of 260-liter compared to 242-liter of the Hyundai.

Prices and Value for money
In terms of pricing, Tata Tiago CNG comes across as a better value-for-money offering with prices stretching between Rs 6.28 lakh and Rs 7.80 lakh. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG, on the other hand, is priced in the band of Rs 7.16 lakh to Rs 7.70 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom)
