The new-generation Land Rover Range Rover recently arrived in India with prices starting at 2.39 crore (ex-showroom). The luxury SUV also began deliveries recently, making it to several high-profile garages. While it’s yet to be spotted on a public road, the uber luxury SUV was spotted at a dealership giving a glimpse at the new offering. The new Range Rover is being offered as a five-seater and seven-seater for the first time, and India gets only the Long Wheelbase (LWB) version, which makes the rear seat nothing less than a lounge.

The new-gen Range Rover is offered in five variants – SE, HSE, Autobiography, and First Edition. The company will bring the top-spec SV variant at a later date. The new model offers a host of customizable options including 25 trims across two petrol and one diesel engine options. The SUV comes with 3.0-liter mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines. The former develops 391PS and 550Nm while the latter belts out 246PS and 700Nm. The top-spec versions get the 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 sourced from BMW with 523PS and 750Nm. Based on the MLA-Flex platform, the model will get a plug-in hybrid and electric derivative in the future.

In terms of design, the Range Rover takes a minimalist approach with simpler lines and a more streamlined look. Its design is evolutionary and the softer surface makes for a lower drag coefficient at 0.30 cd. The model gets tire sizes ranging from 21-inch wheels to 23-inch wheels, along with flush-fitted door handles and blacked-out taillights. The split tailgate has been retained as well.

The cabin features a simpler layout too. Keeping with the minimalist approach and you get a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the largest on any Range Rover so far. The Autobiography variants also get the rear seat entertainment package with 11.4-inch displays. Other features include a tablet to control all functions, a Meridian Signature sound system, an active noise-canceling speaker embedded in the headrest, a massage function, a retractable footrest, and more.
