It’s no secret that Hero will launch its own motorcycle on the 440cc platform jointly developed with Harley-Davidson. In fact, we can now confirm that the bike will be launched in January with a February 2024 launch and initial reviews. Excitign days ahead as Hero is the second Indian manufacturer to make a 400cc naked roadster sporty motorcycle after Bajaj! Who would have thought this would happen!
We now have a good idea of what the name of the bike will be. Hero brandished two names for this bike last year. The first is the Hurikan 440, which we report here. However, in March 2023, Hero applied for a different name – Mavrick 440 – and now it looks like this is the name the company will be using.
This release is a teaser invitation that the company sent out. A unique letter which is used in the bike’s moniker is being put up on their social media updates. The letters we know are I, R and V. The first two letters are related to both names, but only the V is found in Mavrick, leading to the safe assumption that this is the name Hero uses.
The Hero bike uses the same 440cc engine as the Harley-Davidson X440, but has a different look and the chassis is expected to be different as well. Expect it to have everything in terms of connectivity, features and most importantly a fantastic handling motorcycle that Hero is known to make nowadays. This bike is set to be a unique experience and can be positioned as a roadster against the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar NS400, KTM Duke 390, Triumph Speed 400 and others.
