Mercedes-Benz India today launched two new Luxury SUVs, the new GLA SUV and the Performance oriented AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé in India. With more than 14,000 units sold, the GLA is one of the most successful SUVs for Mercedes-Benz India, and a desirable stepping-stone into the brand’s aspirational and most comprehensive SUV range. The AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe on the other hand is a stylish addition to Mercedes-AMG’s SUV portfolio range. This new performance SUV Coupé will diversify Mercedes-Benz GLE portfolio, by catering to AMG customers desiring for a luxurious, stylish, performance SUV Coupé, which is also highly practical.
Mercedes-Benz India also unveiled the one-of-its kind Concept EQG, underlining commitment to an all-electric future. The unveiling of the Concept EQG precedes the launch of the EQG, thereby readying the legendary ‘G’ to embrace an all-electric future in India. Visually, the concept car is a combination of G-Class’ striking look with select design elements characteristic of Mercedes-Benz’s EV models, presented in a contrasting highlight.

⦁ Modern, stylish and dynamic exteriors: The GLA combines its SUV character with an athletic silhouette. The new radiator grille with vertical louvres and horizontal fins enhances the powerful character in the progressive line styling. In AMG line the new front apron design and body colored wheel arches add to the sportiness of the design. Added to this is the modernized light signature in the standard LED High Performance front headlights and the LED rear lights. New alloys further enhance the sporty character of the GLA.

⦁ Wireless smartphone connectivity and improved charging performance: Wireless Smartphone Integration connects the mobile phone with the multimedia system wirelessly via Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™. The charging performance has been increased by 20%.
⦁ Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Function: With Blind Spot Assist, you get two additional radar sensors fitted in the rear bumper. This allows the system to detect bicycles and other vehicles in the blind spot area. If this is the case, a red warning triangle lights up in the appropriate exterior mirror. If the direction indicator is also activated, Blind Spot Assist gives you an audible warning of a possible collision. This warning helps you to safely master typical dangerous situations such as changing lanes, turning and getting out of the car in flowing parallel traffic.
⦁ 360°camera: The 360° camera provides you all-round visibility and makes it easier for you to maneuver into and out of parking spaces.
⦁ New generation of steering wheel: The new generation of steering with touch control panels make operation and control very convenient.
⦁ KEYLESS GO: Your KEYLESS-GO vehicle key can stay in your pocket; you do not even need to hold it in your hand. The car recognizes its owner thanks to the stored access and drive authorization. Grasp the door handle, open, climb in, drive off. KEYLESS-GO is always a convenient experience.
⦁ Hands-Free Access: The boot lid features contactless opening as the sensor area beneath the rear bumper detects a kicking motion with your foot. This is particularly useful when you come to drop off bags in both your hands in the boot.
⦁ Digital Key Handover: Share your vehicle with friends and family – wherever you are, and easily via the Mercedes me App. You unlock your vehicle remotely via the app and activate the stored vehicle key for the user when they are at the vehicle.
⦁ Adaptive high beam assist: The vehicle detects oncoming traffic and automatically switches between high and low beam. This enhances visibility and at the same time ensures safety.
⦁ Mini Games: A selection of mini games specially developed for the touchscreens turn the compact SUV into a mobile games console. Currently, classic games such as Sudoku, Shuffle Puck, Pairs, Match 3 and a quiz are available.

Concept EQG: The Concept EQG enthralls the attendees with its iconic design and futuristic elements. The iconic G-Class, which has remained true to itself for more than 40 years, will now step into the future of electric mobility. The Concept EQG is Mercedes-Benz’s presentation of a near-production study of the all-electric model variant of the G-Class.
The Concept EQG combines the G-Class’ iconic origin and uncompromising off-road capabilities combine with futuristic elements of the Mercedes-Benz EV world. Visually, the concept car combines the unmistakably striking look of the G-Class with selected design elements, typical of all-electric models from Mercedes as contrasting highlights.
The 4×4 qualities of the “G”, which have always set the highest standard for off-roading, will find their way into the age of electric mobility and developed even further in some specific areas. The Concept EQG thus offers a promising preview of what a Mercedes-Benz G-Class with battery-electric drive will be capable of. It feels more at home on difficult terrain than anywhere else.

The origins of the legendary G-Class model date back to 1979. For more than four decades, the “G” has thus embodied the luxury off-road vehicle from Mercedes-Benz. The exterior appearance of the Mercedes-Benz off-road legend has changed only marginally over the entire period. Even as part of the extensive redesign in 2018, which brought with it the biggest technological leap in the model’s history, Mercedes-Benz only cautiously developed the unmistakably striking design further.
For good reason: because its once purely functional components have long since become iconic style elements. These include, for example, the distinctive door handle and characteristic closing sound, the robust exterior protection strip, the exposed spare wheel on the rear door and the eye-catching front turn indicators.
