Maruti seems finally all set for the launch of the new 2017 Swift Dzire Sedan as it is set to look more promising than before
Maruti may have one of the best-selling hatchback and sedans in the market today when it comes to sub four meter category, but it has been critically acclaimed. The Dzire was the most criticized them of all for its poor design and lack of space on the inside, but everything else about it was spot on. Decent performance, mileage numbers and as always peace of mind with sales, service along with resale and reliability. Maruti always wants to take it forward and this time it is no different. The car in talk today is the new Dzire which has been spotted in a dealership yard and seems ready for launch. On the face of it, it does look really promising and as the inside it set to get a lot of changes.
2017 Swift Dzire Sedan Design and Dimensions
The major highlight is going to be the design. Maruti has to get it right to be a critical success. On the face of it is getting a very large futuristic grille which is vertically placed this time. Front-end looks similar to the new hatchback that has been rendered and spied in foreign markets.
Side profile seems interesting as it has a new alloy wheel. Rear has a more wider stance and looks imposing for now. Most importantly the side looks more proportionate than before and it could be finally one of the few best looking compact sedan like most of its rivals. Overall, the styling is inspired by the Ciaz to some extent.

Expect it to have high quality interiors and could be inspired by the new Baleno and Vitara Brezza. Touch screen unit, start-stop system, keyless entry, connectivity options along with climate control and electric mirrors can be expected.

Expect a revised chassis and suspension tuning for the new car. We can still see skinny 14-inch wheels and tyre package here. 15-inch and bigger tyres could make it on the top-end variant. ABS standard on all variants along with good brakes can be expected. More comfort oriented ride on the compact sedan is expected, but expect it to be dynamically good enough.
2017 Swift Dzire Sedan Price and Launch
As always, expect killer pricing for the sedan. Starting at around 5.5 lakhs ex-showroom for the base petrol variant and 6.5 lakhs for base diesel could help Maruti continue to sell in large numbers like in the current situation. Launch is set to happen in late 2017.
2017 Swift Dzire Sedan Engine And Specification
We expect to see the same 1.2 litre petrol engine that is home made by the company. 1.2 K-Series motor should make 90 PS of power and deliver 25 km/l. 1.3 Diesel is doubtful as for now, but it is a safe bet. 1.5 Diesel 4-cylinder made by Maruti itself could début on this car. The engine could make 90 PS as well. Boot lid has a badge which is either an AMT one or a SHVS one.

Expect ABS and EBD along with dual airbags as standard on all variants of the car. Automatic variant could get Hill Hold Assist.
