The stylish Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 Cabriolet continues the success of the AMG SL 55 cabriolet and embodies expressive design, intelligent technology, and upmarket equipment, guaranteeing driving pleasure at an exclusive level. It creates an emotional connection with the customer by inculcating a desire to ‘de-stress’ with open-air motoring and live in the moment by imbibing the cabriolet’s elegant exterior and interior. The cabriolet’s sophisticated aerodynamics ensures maximum ride comfort and pleasant aeroacoustics experience. CLE Cabriolet offers a powerful front end and a stylish fabric acoustic soft top. The Cabriolet features extensive standard equipment, including the AIRCAP®️ electric wind deflector system, AIRSCARF®️, Burmester®️ 3D Surround Sound, the latest generation Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment, and more. As the largest convertible in the mid-size segment, the sporty two-door CLE Cabriolet offers a high level of long-distance comfort for year-round open-air enjoyment.
The interior of the CLE Cabriolet features a freestanding 12.3-inch digital driver display and 11.9-inch driver-oriented central display in portrait format. Another highlight of the interior is the dynamic ambient lighting, further complimented with the chrome trim accents that span the entire passenger compartment. A special coating on the available leather upholstery enables seat surfaces to remain cooler in direct sunlight by up to 53 degrees Fahrenheit compared to untreated leather. The front seats developed exclusively for the CLE have an integral sports seat design. In conjunction with the Burmester® 3D surround sound system, they each have two loudspeakers level with the head restraints.
The CLE Cabriolet features a powerful, athletic exterior – from the aerodynamic “shark nose” front end to the seamless rear design. The forward-leaning front end with low-slung hood and unique flat LED headlights lead to a newly designed, three-dimensional chrome grille with a Mercedes-Benz pattern. A highlight at the rear of the vehicle is the two-part LED taillights with new contours and three-dimensional light bodies.
MBUX infotainment
The latest generation MBUX infotainment offers an expandable portfolio of in-car apps, as well as the new Routines function, which enables customers to personalize the CLE to their habits by automating comfort features. You can choose from templates for standard routines, including “Cold Days,” which turns seat heating on when a certain ambient outdoor temperature is reached, as well as create new routines by linking several comfort functions and conditions via the central display.
The CLE 300 4MATIC is fitted with a 2.0-liter Inline-4 turbocharged engine. The 48-volt mild hybrid powertrains deliver a smooth, powerful driving experience. An integrated starter-generator (ISG) provides support at lower engine speeds, in addition to gliding and recuperation functions.
The AIRCAP® electric wind deflector system and the AIRSCARF® headroom heating system are standard equipment. Both systems have been further developed. AIRCAP® consists of two elements: the wind deflector on the windscreen directs airflow over the occupants’ heads. It extends at the touch of a button. The automatic wind deflector behind the rear head restraints reduces turbulence more efficiently. AIRSCARF® produces even warmer airflow around the necks and throats of front-seat occupants – even in unfavorable wind conditions.
The standard-fit fabric acoustic soft top also contributes to the year-round usability of the CLE Cabriolet. The soft top opens and closes within 20 seconds up to a road speed of 60 km/h. For the first time, it is powered exclusively by electricity, making it even quieter. The standard-fit powered roller divider automatically separates the folded soft top from the remaining luggage compartment.
The CLE Cabriolet meets all high internal safety requirements, specifically the reinforced bodyshell structures, the rollover protection system. The comprehensive standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags with a new centre airbag between the two front occupants. The PRE-SAFE® system, which can prepare the occupants and the vehicle for an imminent collision, also comes as standard. Numerous driving assistance systems, some of which have been further developed, can support drivers and thus relieve them. The standard equipment includes ATTENTION ASSIST, Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist and the Parking package with a reversing camera. The Driving Assistance Plus package is available as an option. It includes more than 10 latest-generation assistance and safety systems. New safety features include the centre airbag between the two front seats and, for the first time in a Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet, a head protection system with two separate head airbags for the rear passengers.
