Tires are an important part of the motorcycle handling equation. A good chassis and engine setup means nothing if you don’t have good rubber when it hits the asphalt. Over the past few years, we have launched a wide range of radial tires made in India for bikes up to 400cc, which is a great addition to the market. Now, the game has one more player. Reise Moto launches TraceRad belted radial tires. Available in 110 front and 150 rear, the popular section of tyres in the country now. We got a chance to test the tires at the CoASTT circuit in Coimbatore and here’s what we experienced.
TraceRads is the company’s first free-riding radial tire and the first road tire focused on sport performance. The tires are compatible with bikes like the KTM 200, 250 and 390 Duke and RC. It also has Aprilia RS 457, Bajaj Dominar 400, Triumph Speed ​​​​​​​​​​400 and all bikes that use the 110- 150 (front and back respectively) . The overall tire design is in tune with other competitors with the right groves and surprisingly, aesthetically pleasing. A unique customization is available where you can write your name on them. These are W-rated tires, something that is ideal for best possible traction and stability.
Reise says it will perform well in wet conditions thanks to the groves design. Like many other tyres in segment, TraceRads contain various compounds spread across the center and shoulders to ensure braking, longetivity and comfort at the same time.
KTM 390 Duke and RC 390 Race Cup bikes had these tyres on for the day when we were riding it. First impressions are that they are light and require little effort to enter corners and turn quickly enough to support high lean angles. The track has plenty of wet spots and wet mud lines, and the tires were poised throughout them too. The cornering was confidence inspiring, but it isn’t out and out sticky as its core competitor, the Eurogrip Protoq, but even better than the Apollo’s.
We have spent time with all these tyres on our personal Duke 390 first gen and third gen. These tyres are a bit better than the H Rated Metzeler tyres that come stock on the Gen 3 Duke 390. These tyres have a similar trait of the Michelin Pilot Road 5 where they take time to warm up. However, post that they perform far better than them. The rear tyre was good and did its job and came very close. However, the front tyre needs a bit of more stability as it does return adjustment while mid corner on a high lean.

All this makes the TraceRads seem that they are designed to provide the perfect balance between performance and durability. A six-year warranty and claims that the service life of the tires is slightly above 12,000 km. Considering the price of the rear tires is RS 6199 and the front tires are Rs 5199, then these tires are quite good value for money. While longevity remains to be seen and tested when we get our hands on a set of tires, initial impressions on track time indicate that these tyres are a good investment for your machine.
