NEW KTM RC 160 was spied testing for the first time. The motorcycle is said to be Indian market oriented only and will go to specific markets like Japan and other Asian countries in the future. Our sources confirm these rumors couple of months back by saying that a 160cc range of motorcycles were coming from Bajaj which are going to be premium and will come in the Pulsar RS 160.
The riders who sent us these photos said the fairing clearly had 160cc sticker embossed on it and not a 165cc that was speculated last week. The KTM RC 160 spied motorcycle will get ABS, USD forks, slipper clutch and TVS Protorq Extreme tyres. A white color with current RC styling is visible.
A 160cc engine will make around 18-19 PS easily with liquid cooling and 4-valve head. A detuned 200cc engine from the KTM stable has already become much smoother, easier to live with and with taller gearing, it will come close the benchmarks set with the R15 and MT-15.
Duke 160 and will replace the Duke 125 as well. The Duke 160 will rival the Yamaha MT-15. KTM will now take a share in this lucrative market where the R15 and MT-15 are ruling the roost since more than a decade now. KTM did its best when it came initially with the 125’s but now with more identical firepower and price, the game can truly change. KTM is known to be more premium, sport and focused so the RC 165 can give a very tough fight on the track and on the road. Bajaj takes these decisions as it wants to keep the crown of the performance market leadership to itself.
