More than a year of its launch, Bajaj Chetak electric has been able to clock sales of around 1400 units. The company launched the electric scooter in India in January 2020 and received an enthusiastic response from prospective buyers with the scooter garnering bookings to the tune of 2,000 units. However, Covid-19 pandemic struck and sales flattened in the following months. In fact, Bajaj has only been able to launch the Chetak electric in two cities – Bangalore and Pune and its original plan of launching the scooter in multiple cities fell flat due to the pandemic.

Now according to the latest news, Bajaj is gearing to launch Chetak electric in the next two cities in India – Hyderabad and Chennai. The exact roll-out plan is yet to be revealed by the company but it’s clear that within the next few days, residents of both these cities will have the opportunity to get their hands on this electric machine.
Available in two variants, Chetak electric scooter made its debut at a starting price of Rs 1.00 lakh and Rs 1.15 lakh for Urbane and Premium models respectively. However, the prices of the scooter went under revision in April 2021 and now stacks at Rs 1.42 lakh (Urbane) and 1.44 lakh (Premium) (all prices, ex-showroom).
