BMW has officially phased out two of its budget models—the G 310 R and G 310 GS—marking the end of an era for these entry-level bikes, which were developed in partnership with TVS and launched in 2018.

The decision to discontinue these models was largely driven by the new OBD-2B regulations that took effect on April 1, 2025, alongside the fact that both bikes had reached the end of their production cycle. They faced challenges competing against more robust and feature-rich options in the market.

Production of the G 310 R and G 310 GS concluded in January 2025. Given the generous year-end discounts offered, it’s unlikely that there is any remaining unsold stock. While the G 310 R has been taken down from BMW’s website, the G 310 GS remains listed, suggesting that some units may still be available.

Looking ahead, BMW will now focus on offering the G 310 RR, which is derived from the TVS Apache RR 310 and features BMW branding. This model retains the same 312cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 34hp and 27Nm of torque. This engine, part of the original collaboration, will continue to be used in the TVS Apache RR 310 and, of course, the newly branded BMW G 310 RR.

In the near future, BMW is set to introduce the F 450 GS Enduro, which was previously showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
