BMW G310R Spotted Testing somewhere down south of India as it is all set to be launched in the country in late 2016 or early 2017
After the KTM motorcycles, the much awaited motorcycles are expected from none other its key rival, which is BMW. The Bavrians had announced its TVS collaborated motorcycle will first show itself in 2015 and they did. After that it was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The motorcycle has been showcased at various Auto Expo worldwide including the famous Milan show and other motor shows worldwide. The motorcycle is the first single-cylinder motorcycle from the German brand which will take on the likes of every single entry level motorcycle in the world when it comes quarter litre category.
This is the first time it has been spied in the country doing test runs on long and vast highways of Southern India. Doing speeds upto 120 km/hr easily is what can be seen. The motorcycle escapes the camera very quickly but couldn’t hide anything and it wasn’t camouflaged as well. Last minute testing could be spotted here in this video. Aiming for a launch that is set to happen soon, that is around the festive season of 2016.
BMW G310R is powered by a 313cc engine that makes 34 BHP and 28 Nm of torque. The chassis is the twin tube frame which we have seen before as well. The cylinder has been twisted 180 degrees so the exhaust exits quickly aiding in more dynamic engine response, aiding in chassis balance as well. Tyre size are the same as the KTM which is 110x70x17 at the front and 150x60x17 at the rear. Pricing should be around 2.2-2.4 lakh ex-showroom and on-road pricing should be attractive automatically.
All of this seems possible from this premium brand as well as with the help of TVS, the cost of things have come down and with minimum investments for a assembly line, manufacturing has been saved, we can expect this motorcycle to create more superb options in the affordable premium middle weight motorcycle category.
