2019 Fuel Injected Pulsar 220 with ABS is set for launch before March 2019. Could get slightly more power
BS6 Engine Equipped Pulsar 220 has been spotted testing for the first time. Bajaj is in the process of updating its Pulsar range with the new BS-VI compliant engine and the launch is expected to happen in 2020. The bike spied have new tail-piece, revised and what looks like a larger tank and new side panels. All of this means the company is not interested in tinkering with the hugely popular Pulsar’s design language. Also, Bajaj has announced that all new Pulsar range will debut in the market in 2020 and this is the new one while keep the popular design in check at the same time.
2019 Fuel Injected Pulsar 220 will very likely upgrade to 250cc engine in the near future. However, for now, the single-cylinder, oil-cooled configuration of the DTS-i motor will remain intact and the motor will be optimized for slightly more performance and cleaner emissions. Currently, the Pulsar 220 comes with 220 cc DTS-i motor putting out 21 PS of Max power along with 19Nm of max torque. New Pulsar 220 will be upgraded to a 250, but in later in 2020-2021.
The addition of new Pulsar 250 cc in the future will add the prowess of Pulsar range and help the Bajaj to compete effectively in a quarter-liter segment. This category is catching up nowadays and the company wants to rub off the brand effect of Pulsar range in 250cc segment too. Expect the Pulsar 220 to come equipped with front and rear disc brake with ABS as standard feature. The Pulsar 250 in the future will take on the likes FZ25, Apache 200, upcoming Hornet and Gixxer 250 single-cylinder bikes that are rumoured to be coming.
