BS6 VW Polo and Vento Launched With New Engines and Gearbox Options!

The much awaited and rumored about BS6 VW Polo and Vento are here. Volkswagen India launches its BS6 petrol engine product portfolio across it’s model range of Polo and Vento. Powering the BS6 variants of the Volkswagen Polo will be the MPI and TSI petrol engines of the EA 211 engine family. While the Volkswagen Vento will be powered by TSI engine of the same family. The current 1.2l TSI engine will be replaced by 1.0l TSI engine (delivering up to 110 PS of power & 175 Nm of torque, most powerful petrol engine in the category). It will be mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission depending on the variant. The 1.0l TSI engine is not only lighter in weight but is also more powerful and efficient in nature.

Volkswagen’s globally awarded TSI technology is a key component for the brands’ powertrain and fuel strategy. It’s many advantages include the engines compact design which enables a high power drivability, more performance, less fuel consumption with an excellent fuel economy. It is also a sustainable engine option in the future of mobility. BS6 VW Polo and Vento now comprise of heat insulating glass, which maintains the cabin temperature. Thus, lowering fuel consumption and enhancing customer comfort while driving of the BS6 VW Polo and Vento.

Speaking on the introduction of the BS6 product portfolio, Mr. Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passengers Cars said, “Volkswagen is always committed to bring in the best of technology for its customers in India while being conscious about its carbon footprint. We are proud to introduce our BS6 variants of the Polo and Vento, which comprises of the MPI engine and Volkswagen’s award winning TSI technology.”

Further Mr. Knapp commented, “In accordance to the Indian government norms, Volkswagen India announces a 100% transformation to a BS6 product portfolio. The carlines continue to be accessible for the Indian customers with no major price difference across the Polo & Vento carlines.”

1.5 Diesel are going out as we speak. There could be bare minimum stocks at dealer level. Dealers are heavily discounting and advertising about certain products on sale with the old 1.2 TSi motors that come with DSG somethign that has been discontinued. The diesels could return but its atleast two years away. The 1.5 petrol TSi could come in the Vento but that is something unsure right now and also an enthusiasts wet dream.
