Chevrolet is ramping up its portfolio to gain some market share in the country despite lost ground and lack of sales momentum in the past. Chevrolet will be entering in key segment which can help them achieve numbers. Compact sedans are the one’s that get manufacturer numbers and Chevrolet is going for it. Chevrolet Beat Essentia compact sedan spied on test of the streets of Pune for the first time means it is time that the launch preparations and product testing has commenced. However, the next-gen Chevrolet Beat, the hatchback on which the Essentia compact sedan is based on has been spotted multiple times.
Chevrolet Beat Essentia Design and Dimensions
The compact sedan is set to be under the four meter mark and will house a boot. Front will resemble to the next-generation hatchback showcased at the Auto Expo. Side profile will be a typical sub four meter sedan. Chevrolet Beat Essentia will be manufactured at GM India’s Talegaon facility from 2017 as the Gujarat factory is set to go on lease.
Chevrolet Beat Essentia Interior, Features And Space
Chevrolet Beat Essentia is set to be no frills commuter set to carry 5 passenger and offer a boot for luggage. Essentia interiors will get an updated version of the motorcycle-inspired instrument cluster seen on the current generation Beat. The cluster will have an analogue speedometer and a LCD/LED display for the tachometer, tripmeter, odometer and other driver information systems that will be give on offer. Most likely tell-tale and warning lights will be the extras. Chevrolet India has announced a touchscreen MyLink infotainment system for the Essentia compact sedan. It is being done to make it more appealing to the masses and stay in tuned with the market. Infotainment system will likely come with AndroidAuto and Apple CarPlay system.
Chevrolet Beat Essentia Price and Launch
Pricing is speculative for now. It can begin around Rs.5.5 lakhs and end around 8.5 lakhs ex-showroom.
Chevrolet Beat Essentia Engine And Specification
Chevrolet has spoken much and hasn’t shared any specification yet. We expect the engines to come from the next-gen, yet to be launched hatchback. 1.0 litre petrol and 1.0 litre diesel 3-cylinder engines will make it to the engine bay. Petrol will make around 85 PS and diesel will make around 65-70 PS of power.
