Ducati Multistrada 950 India Launch is done at an attractive price tag and this model should Ducati sell even more adventure models in the country
Ducati, the most popular Italian brand is now launching the entry level adventure bike, the new Multistrada 950. This would be the entry level adventure bike and will be in competition with Triumph’s Tiger series.
Ducati Multistrada 950 Engine And Specification
The Multistrada 950 will be powered by a new 937cc, L-Twin Testastretta engine that produces max power of 113 bhp at 9000 RPM and a torque of 96.2Nm at 7750 RPM. This is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that has a ratio of 1.84:1. The engine is completely new and is the most refined in the segment. Coming to the drivetrain, the bike is lined to the wheel by a 42-sprocket chain-drive system and there is a 6-speed gearbox on offer.
Ducati Multistrada 950 Chassis, suspension and brakes
The Multistrada 950 is built on a tubular steel trellis frame and gets the same KYB 48mm fully adjustable USD forks at the front and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock unit at the rear. The bike sits at a height of 840 mm making it the tallest seat position bike in the segment.
The bike runs on 17’’ Pirelli Scorpion Trail II 120/70 all-terrain tyre at the front and a wider 19-inch 170/60 tyre at the rear. The brakes are from Brembo, with a dual-320mm disc setup at the front and a single-265mm disc at the rear. The stopping power is immense. Coming to the instrument cluster, the bike has a fully digital instrument cluster, with different riding modes. They are sport, urban, comfort and wet. The Enduro option does not come with this model.

As for the safety, the bike comes standard with ABS and Ducati’s 8-way adjustable traction control (DTC). The ABS can also be adjusted from the LCD screen.
All in all, this bike is priced at 12.6 lakhs ex-showroom, New Delhi. These are post GST prices and deliveries will only commence since July 1’st 2017. This bike can set a new standard for the adventure enthusiasts who are willing to afford an adventure bike.
