Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle is in the works and will be based on the new generation Pulsars. Remember the AS? Bajaj did say it will come back someday as no product is ever discontinued, it just vanishes off the assembly line. With a plethora of off-road motorcycles being launched in the sub 400 cc territory, we still have a few more contenders to see on road, err off-road.
With the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS, Kawasaki Versys 300, the freshly launched Hero Xpulse 200 and the KTM ADV 390 and 250 the race is clear on. Well, it’s not a surprise that the Indian automotive giant Bajaj is coming in despite complete silence on the subject.
What we can expect from this dedicated Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle that it can be many things. The motorcycle will be a straight competition to the aforementioned manufacturer’s vehicles. What we are eager to know are the engine specifications, will they boast a 400 CC mill in the future. To begin with, it could come with a completely homegrown 250cc engine that is ready to replace the 220. RS and NS 200 are different topics left for another day.
Also, the long-living legacy of the name Pulsar may not be found on the Bajaj off-road bike, the likes of not badging it as Dominar are also possible. But what’s possible is the efficiency and value for money quotient that Bajaj has been offered since the first-ever Pulsar 150.
Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle could be well equipped with a 250/400 cc engine and basic electronics like switchable ABS, manually adjustable rear suspension, spoked wheels, metal bash plates, handle guards, premium tyres then it should sit well in the price range of INR 1.6lakhs to 1.8 Lakhs. Similarly, if the bike comes with a quarter-litre engine, single-channel ABS, spoked wheels and budget spec tyres will help it be priced between INR 1.10 lakhs to 1.30 lakhs are positive. Till then, let’s wait and watch.
